Front Marin County here Hey girl moms and dads, if you’re getting ready for summer camp (or thinking about it), this is for you. Starting something new can feel exciting… and a little scary. What if you don’t know anyone? What if you’re nervous riding?

Here’s the truth: every girl at camp feels that way at first. And by the end of the week? You’ll feel stronger, braver, and like you found your people.

What Your First Day Feels Like

When you arrive at Ross Valley Mountain Bike Camp, you won’t be thrown straight onto a trail. Instead, the day starts with fun group games, things like:

  • Capture the flag

  • Circle games

  • Team challenges

These games help everyone:

  • Laugh

  • Relax

  • Get to know each other

Before you even hop on your bike, you’ll already feel more comfortable.

And that’s the point.

You Don’t Have to Be “Good” at Biking

Here’s something really important:

You don’t need to be an expert rider.

At Ross Valley, girls of all levels come together—from beginners to more experienced riders. Campers are grouped by ability so everyone can learn at their own pace and feel supported  .

That means:

  • No pressure

  • No comparing

  • No feeling left behind

Just learning, trying, and getting better each day.

How You’ll Build Confidence (Without Even Realizing It)

Confidence doesn’t come from being perfect.

It comes from:

  • Trying something new

  • Falling (and getting back up)

  • Riding something you didn’t think you could

At camp, you’ll learn real skills like:

  • Balance and control

  • Braking and turning

  • Climbing hills

  • Riding trails safely

But here’s the cool part—you’ll also learn:

“I can do hard things.”

The Best Part? The Friendships

This is what most girls remember the most.

Not just the riding, but the people.

At camp, you’ll:

  • Cheer each other on

  • Ride together

  • Laugh at lunch

  • Play games

  • Celebrate wins (big and small)

By the end of the week, the girls you just met feel like real friends.

Because when you go through something new together—it brings you closer.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Every day is a mix of fun, adventure, and connection:

Morning → Games + team bonding

Midday → Riding trails around Marin

Lunch → Relax, laugh, hang out

Afternoon → More riding, challenges, and fun

You’ll ride some of the most beautiful trails in Marin County, the birthplace of mountain biking, while building skills and confidence along the way  .

It’s Okay to Feel Nervous

Let’s be real, trying something new can feel intimidating.

But here’s what makes this camp different:

  • Coaches are kind and supportive

  • Everyone is learning together

  • You’re never alone

  • It’s about fun, not being perfect

By day two or three, something shifts.

You’ll feel:

  • More comfortable

  • More confident

  • More excited

This Is Your Summer

This isn’t just about riding bikes.

It’s about:

  • Feeling included

  • Making friends

  • Believing in yourself

  • Having fun outside

And maybe even discovering something you didn’t know about yourself.

One More Thing

You don’t have to be fearless to start. You just have to show up. The confidence? The friendships? The fun? That’s what you’ll build along the way.
